Bitcoin SV (BSV) sets itself apart by being the blockchain project with an ecosystem of applications that let its users earn and spend their BSV tokens. One of these is Open Directory, one of the easiest ways that allows users to earn BSV by simply organizing links on the blockchain. The platform enables anyone to create a directory and submit links and once their links get upvoted, the submitters receive a tip. For the longest time, content owners rarely get adequately compensated for their hard work. Open Directory will change this as the original content owner is one of those who receive the biggest chunk of the tip. https:\/\/twitter.com\/francis83221330\/status\/1175376536318251008 The content owner shares the reward with all the other people who contributed in what is known as a tip chain. This is a chain of Bitcoin addresses that share the tip when a user upvotes content. The chain consists of those who submit the links and those that create the categories. Open Directory proves the efficiency of developing incentive-based information systems where the participants are paid for their contributions to the platform. It improves the signal to noise ratio by incentivizing the quality content, thereby ensuring that this content surfaces faster for the users. The platform also solves the decades-old challenge of spam. In Open Directory, spam isn\u2019t as big a deal as the spammers have to pay for their content. For spammers who require to increase their relevance on the platform, they are required to pay more. The platform allows you to become an admin where you can perform critical tasks on your directory. The most critical of these is detaching directories and hiding them from public view and notifying users of a new version. The admin channel is a custom Bitcom protocol that creates a channel where you can sign and send messages only to your channel. As with any other platform, conflicts are bound to arise sooner or later, and Open Directory has two approaches to solve them. The first is through the admins who can detach a controversial topic. The second is through soft forking where the party that forks can change the brand, default tip chain, front page and more. Hard forks are not supported currently, but there are plans to support them in the future.
