The main stages of the London Blockchain Conference hosted some of the industry’s foremost thought leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, and policymakers to discuss the future of blockchain technology. In the background, the BSV DevCon 2024 was diving into the nitty-gritty of building on blockchain. The host, Brett Banfe, joined CoinGeek Backstage to discuss how the event was playing its part in pushing blockchain adoption.
“I get so charged up by these events and seeing all the tools being put together on the stage. It was phenomenal,” stated Banfe, the Head of Community at the BSV Association.
While the London Blockchain Conference focused on the business, adoption, and regulatory aspects of blockchain technology, the BSV DevCon was more hands-on and delved into the technical aspects. It saw some of the industry’s most acclaimed developers discuss their products, services, tools and roadmaps.
One key aim of the event was to introduce developers and entrepreneurs to all the tools and services available to build with, said Banfe.
“What we’re trying to do is provide them with the simple tools that allow them to take their projects from concept to creation,” Banfe told CoinGeek Backstage’s Jon Southurst, who notes that the DevCon was the best part of the entire event.
The BSV Association hopes that DevCon can also inspire developers to dream bigger and build aggressively, accelerating the BSV ecosystem’s growth pace.
While technical, the DevCon also had room for investors, led by the Block Dojo team, who delivered a presentation on the support they offer builders to make their ideas a reality. Banfe says this is important to the event as it reassures developers that massive resources in the industry are willing to bet on their ideas.
“It really feels like the message is resonating right now,” observed Banfe.
Ty Everett delivered one of the most acclaimed presentations at DevCon, discussing his Project Babbage. For Banfe, the highlight was a presentation by Thomas Giacomo, the Director of Utilization at the BSV Association.
