Satoshi Nakamoto described Bitcoin as a peer-to-peer electronic cash that allows direct payments from one party to another without a financial institution. One company on the frontline in making Satoshi’s vision a reality is HandCash. As co-founder Rafael Jimenez Seibane told CoinGeek Backstage, unlocking micropayments is creating a whole new world of opportunities.

CoinGeek’s Becky Liggero caught up with Jimenez in Warsaw during the CoinGeek Bitcade, an event that allowed attendees to learn about the BSV ecosystem, play some games, and even compete for cash prizes. Jimenez took to the stage to talk about some of the payments issues that face the Internet today and how HandCash solves them through BSV.

For him, the exorbitant fees that Internet-focused payment services charge is the biggest challenge today. These fees are money that’s taken out of your business and could have gone to expansion or add to the profits.

“There are so many business opportunities that are being locked right now and this is what we think this new cash for the Internet is unlocking,” he told CoinGeek Backstage.

HandCash offers one of the easiest-to-use Bitcoin wallets in the market. In addition to sending and receiving money, it allows its users to interact with virtually every other application on BSV, from the games to the social media platforms.

This, as Jimenez pointed out, kills two birds with one stone. First, it makes it extremely easy for users to access hundreds of applications on the BSV ecosystem. It also solves the issue of payments for the applications, preventing developers from having to develop entirely new payment systems from scratch. They can then focus on building innovative features for their users.

At the CoinGeek Bitcade, Jimenez, together with fellow co-founder Alex Agut and the rest of the HandCash team, onboarded the attendees to HandCash as they came in and even sent them $1 in BSV to introduce them to the ease and convenience that BSV offers.

“Once they have this experience of connecting their wallets to one of these games, where you don’t have to do anything else [to start playing], it’s like magic for them and it’s simply blowing their minds,” Jimenez concluded.
