Founders Bank has been marketing itself as the world’s first decentralized and community-owned bank, yet the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) said it wasn't aware that the company has been publicly—and illegally—calling itself as a "bank."
The Malta Financial Services Authority is currently involved in a consultation exercise to ensure that all stakeholders are well informed on what the three blockchain and crypto laws that were passed recently, entail.
The laws may have been passed, but the blockchain and cryptocurrency sector in Malta will have to wait a little bit longer before they can start operations.
