Google is taking legal action against unidentified scammers, labeled as "DOES 1-3," for exploiting the popularity of its AI chatbot, Bard, by spreading malware via fake app updates.
The lawsuit was brought in July by individuals claiming to represent "millions of class members" and accused Google of multiple violations, including invasion of privacy and copyright infringement.

Sources tell The Information that the new open-source model would not compete with ChatGPT and come months after Microsoft released a similar model.
