Brendan Lee has invested years into learning about the intricacies and capabilities of Bitcoin, and with Elas, he is now putting this knowledge to work and helping create some of the most sophisticated products on Bitcoin.

“I think for several years, it’s been a lot of toying with what we can really do. It’s been a journey of discovery,” Lee told CoinGeek Backstage at GITEX Global in Dubai.

Lee’s company, Elas, which develops a wide range of blockchain solutions, was among the BSV firms that presented their products at the tech exhibition.

In 2023, Elas worked with Manufact, a company stamping out counterfeit products with its traceability platform. It also played a significant role in Tokenovate’s push to bring the world of commodity derivatives trading onto the blockchain. Lee says that Tokenovate is the first project to “really look at leveraging the true power of Bitcoin script.”

Lee joined Bitcoin in 2017, just after the BCH hard fork. For him, selecting the blockchain to build on came down to a network’s ability to scale, and after experimenting with a few other chains, he knew that the level of scaling required for a global network could only be realized on the original Bitcoin protocol, the BSV blockchain.

“Everyone can only access it if it scales in such a way that the bigger it gets, the cheaper it is. BSV was the only project that has ever brought that idea front and center,” he stated.

“For me, it’s always been an absolute no-brainer. I want to be at the pivot point of the change, and BSV is the pivot point.”

At GITEX, Lee networked with several potential partners. One company creates seals for containers, and he believes it would be a perfect fit to integrate Manufact’s tamper-proof technology. The company also sparked exciting conversations about how its technology can be integrated into the electronics and fertilizer manufacturing industries.
