This week, Kurt Wuckert Jr. held a special AMA answering questions about the COPA v. Wright trial. The cross-examination of Dr. Craig Wright started on Tuesday, and Wuckert shared his thoughts on how things were going and answered the inevitable questions viewers had.

COPA vs. Wright Day 2—how’s it going?

Wuckert says day two was the most interesting day of court he has experienced so far, including all of Dr. Wright’s cases he has sat in on in Florida and Norway.

While the litigators tried to catch Dr. Wright out to the best of their ability, they didn’t manage to do so, Wuckert says. The attorney for COPA was dull, monotone, and had little bravado. Dr. Wright had explanations for every point he raised.

Dr. Wright was relaxed, but COPA’s lawyer was visibly agitated. Insiders also told Wuckert that COPA’s lawyer appears to be annoyed during breaks and wonders why things are going the way they are. Dr. Wright, by contrast, hasn’t lost his cool and is handling things well. He was schooling the so-called expert witnesses on Citrix systems and other elements of computer forensics.

As for Justice Mellor, he’s jovial, confident, and seems genuinely interested in the truth. He allowed Dr. Wright to submit additional evidence on the basis that it would help either one or the other parties.

Wuckert answers viewer questions

Q. What’s the timeline of the trial?

It’s been published, Wuckert says. Oral openings will be followed by cross-examinations, then digital currency experts will take the stand. The schedule will push well into March, and Wuckert tells us the momentum will likely shift multiple times.

Q. Can you explain some of Dr. Wright’s rebuttals?

Wuckert says the Grammarly rebuttal was good. Dr. Wright explained that the enterprise version of Grammarly doesn’t work the same way on nChain systems. There were five or six instances like this, suggesting Dr. Wright’s superior understanding of these systems. Patrick Madden will no doubt dispute this later, but he should also say when Dr. Wright is correct, Wuckert says.

Q. Why did Dr. Wright pick/get assigned the forensic expert he did even though he doesn’t want him?

Wuckert doesn’t know, but it’s probably linked to Dr. Wright changing law firms. He only contracted with Shoosmiths last year, so there was likely a scramble to get an expert, and time was against him.

Q. Will BSV overtake BTC if everything goes Dr. Wright’s way?

Wuckert says this would be extraordinary. Several people not deeply involved in digital currencies have reached out to him and expressed a favorable view of Dr. Wright. Maybe people will begin to see Dr. Wright and BSV in a different light. Wuckert doesn’t think there will be a boom, but it might slowly increase in price.

Q. Why so many alleged forgeries? Is Dr. Wright playing 5D chess?

Wuckert doesn’t want to speculate on this. We know DeMorgan servers were hacked, and we also know Satoshi’s email was breached not long after that. There was no sterility in that environment. Tampering is not necessarily forgery, and it’s essential to keep that in mind.
