Bitcoin- and blockchain-related job postings saw the highest surge in 2021 among all tech-related roles, LinkedIn says in its latest report. The sector also saw diversification in roles and industries as blockchain grew past financial services.

In a recent post, LinkedIn revealed that job postings containing terms like Bitcoin, blockchain, and other digital asset-related roles shot up 395% in 2021 in the U.S. from a year prior. This was the highest growth in the technology industry, outpacing the entire industry by 4x with its 98% rise.

The highest number of job postings on the job-oriented social networking service related to the blockchain space were in finance and software, the two sectors that have dominated blockchain jobs for the past five years. Blockchain developers and engineers were among the most popular roles.

However, in 2021, other sectors saw a bigger share of the pie compared to previous years as more industries adopted blockchain and digital assets. These include computer hardware sectors, accounting, consulting, and staffing.

The rise in blockchain jobs came during a year when investment into blockchain startups hit a new high. According to data by capital market research and data platform PitchBook, the industry received about $30 billion from investors across the world. This influx of capital allowed the startups to expand aggressively and increase their staff numbers.

It’s not just in the U.S. that blockchain jobs have shot up. As CoinGeek reported in October, job postings related to digital assets shot up by 37% in India, according to data from employment platform Indeed.

Not only are blockchain jobs among the fastest growing in the world, they are also among the best paying in the tech world.

According to the Blockchain Council, blockchain engineers, UX designers, product managers, analysts, and legal experts are among the highest-paying jobs in the space.

And now, with Bitcoin Association’s job board, finding a job in the lucrative sector has never been easier. The jobs board launched in early 2021, and since then, it has gone on to list some of the most highly-coveted positions in the industry, connecting talent with the most impactful companies in the Bitcoin space.

Some of the most recent job postings on the board include JavaScript software engineer for Zumo, data analyst for TAAL (CSE:TAAL | FWB:9SQ1 | OTC: TAALF), UX/UI designer for Fabriik, and general manager of sales and marketing at Zweispace.
