Becky Liggero is a Reporter, Producer and Host for CoinGeek.com, with a special interest in the intersection of blockchain technology and the online gambling (iGaming) industry. Becky’s passion for the iGaming space stems back to 2005 when she started working for affiliate and publisher Casino City, attending industry events around the world and contributing to the company’s newsletter and magazine.
In 2009, Becky joined iGaming pioneer and tech enthusiast Calvin Ayre to serve as the Lead On-Site Reporter for CalvinAyre.com, a popular iGaming industry news site. Throughout her time with the publication, Becky conducted hundreds of interviews with iGaming professionals, celebrities and sports stars, attended every major industry conference to produce daily highlights videos and moderate panels, published a weekly column and hosted industry awards.
From 2012, Becky started reporting on Bitcoin and its use case for peer-to-peer payments in iGaming. As the Bitcoin and blockchain space developed, Becky spent more time studying the technology and in 2017, she started reporting for CoinGeek.com when it was acquired by Ayre’s media group. When CalvinAyre.com ceased publishing iGaming industry news in 2021, Becky made a full transition to CoinGeek.com and has been focused on the intersection of blockchain and iGaming ever since.
A Bates College graduate, Becky is an American living in London covering the European and North American markets, although throughout her career she has travelled extensively, including event coverage in exotic locations such as Rwanda, Morocco, Siberia, Macau, Philippines, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Scandinavia, Israel, Saudi Arabia and UAE. Becky is a regular moderator at iGaming industry events and webinars organized byHipther, World Gaming Business (Clarion), SBC, iGaming NEXT, WGES and SiGMA in addition to various blockchain and tech events. She also enjoys chairing blockchain conference tracks, start-up accelerators and hosting industry ceremonies.
In her spare time, Becky is a wellness enthusiast with a passion for running, fitness and organic living, often spotted around conferences with healthy snacks and in hotel gyms.
