Ex-Coinbase product manager Ishan Wahi has been sentenced to two years in prison for insider trading he had committed while working at the exchange.
A path to resolving the U.S. SEC's insider trading charges against the Wahi brothers has opened up following an in-principle agreement between the involved parties, a move that signals a settlement.
Ex-Coinbase staffer Ishan Wahi pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. He, together with his brother Nikhil and Sameer Ramani, were charged with insider trading in July 2022.
Nikhil Wahi admitted that he received tips from his brother, who was a former product manager at Coinbase, about upcoming listings and made $1.4 million from them.
