Jimmy Nguyen joins Albany Law School ‘Blockchain and Cryptocurrency: The Legal Framework and Future Trends’ webinar

Many people, both inside and out of the blockchain ecosystem, have questions regarding blockchain and Bitcoin from a legal standpoint. No matter where you are located in the world, blockchain business owners, as well as digital currency investors, must navigate the legal landscape so that they are compliant with applicable local laws.

With blockchain technologies and digital currencies rapidly increasing in popularity over the last half-year, there is likely to be an influx of people looking for guidelines and wondering what the best way to navigate the legal landscape will be. Even if there is not an influx of questions and newcomers, it is always good to have background information regarding how the law works and how it applies to you.

On February 25, Albany Law School will be hosting the “Blockchain and Cryptocurrency: The Legal Framework and Future Trends” webinar to answer some of those pressing questions regarding law and legal issues and how they relate to digital currency. The webinar will be panel-style, and panelists include Bitcoin Association Founding President Jimmy Nguyen, Albany Law School adjunct professor Debbie Hoffman, Ketsal PLLC partner Josh Garcia, Shutts & Bowen LLP partner Daniel Stabile, and Straight Up Capital founder and managing partner Sean Keefe.

Some of the key questions the panel members will be discussing are:

  • How are cryptocurrencies currently regulated?
  • What are some of the legal and regulatory issues raised by the growth of blockchain?
  • How will future trends impact the legal and regulatory environment?
  • How should lawyers and non-lawyers prepare for the future and the rise of cryptocurrencies?
