Wuckert’s latest CoinGeek article

Wuckert begins by saying he’s trying to time his articles on CoinGeek so that he can talk about them on his CoinGeek Weekly Livestreams. He wants to begin by discussing his latest article.

In ‘What about the good stuff he did?’ Wuckert talks about how Al Capone, John Gotti, and other notorious gangsters would try to ingratiate themselves to the communities they operated as a form of cover for their criminal empires. Essentially, former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao did the same.

While Wuckert isn’t a big fan of KYC regulations or taxes, he rightly points out that you must be beyond reproach to challenge these laws. You must set an example by showing that society can operate without them based on people’s innate moral character. However, CZ was a shadow banker for terrorists, human traffickers, and cybercriminals. Wuckert points out that while some of the biggest banks in the world are similarly dirty, this doesn’t give Binance or Zhao a pass to do the same.

One of the livestream viewers then asks Wuckert if he’d be thankful for a service like CZ provided if his own preferred groups, e.g., Christians and libertarians, were designated as terrorists. Wuckert responds that CZ was not helping heroes. On the contrary, he was helping criminals and literal terrorists.

Is CZ dishing out the dirt on others? Wuckert says he almost certainly is. His situation is looking worse by the day, and as the U.S. government squeezes him, it’s almost certain he’ll sing. He’s one of the few who knows everything happening with Tether and others.

What does Wuckert expect from the Satoshi identity trial in January? What are the odds of Dr. Craig Wright winning?

Wuckert points out that many small blockers are on their victory lap already. However, he thinks this is premature. Proving a negative, such as that Dr. Wright is not Satoshi, is extremely difficult. Dr. Wright only has to cause reasonable doubt to win. As previous trials have shown, there’s a lot to go on that indicates he is Bitcoin’s inventor.

Wuckert would love to see the bombshell evidence that puts the matter to rest for good, he says. However, whatever comes out, he thinks Dr. Wright will win for the aforementioned reason: it’s exceedingly difficult to prove a negative. It’s his game to lose.

Why would COPA spend so much to try and take down a man the industry tries to paint as an irrelevant fraud? Wuckert invites viewers to think about that.

What are the possible outcomes of the COPA v Wright case? Wuckert lists them:

  • COPA wins, and Dr. Wright appeals.
  • COPA wins, and Dr. Wright walks away.
  • Dr. Wright wins, and COPA appeals.
  • Dr. Wright wins, and COPA walks away.

All of these scenarios have different consequences and ramifications. Wuckert thinks COPA is highly unlikely to just walk away if they lose. After all, they’ve invested so much into this, and if BSV blockchain proliferates the way he thinks it can, it’s a threat to the empires of COPA backers like Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey.

If Dr. Wright loses, will Calvin Ayre walk away?

Wuckert says Ayre is an interesting character. Many people in the industry presume he has been fooled and that either Dr. Wright, Stefan Matthews, or both tricked him. This is absurd, Wuckert says, noting that Ayre is one of the shrewdest businessmen on the planet.

Ayre made his money by outsmarting many of the smartest people in the world. This applies not only to his success with Bodog, but also to previous ventures in which he brought high-speed internet into an area of Canada, as well as other ventures in payments and software. Wuckert says that some people dismiss Ayre based on his public persona, but that’s the shrewdest thing of all, as it causes rivals to underestimate him.

Even if Dr. Wright loses, Wuckert thinks it’s unlikely Ayre will walk away. His legacy is wrapped up in Bitcoin, and he wants to be remembered as someone who saved it. Ayre truly wants to change the world, and his enthusiasm for Bitcoin and its capabilities is genuine. However, even if he does walk, Wuckert reminds us that Bitcoin is anti-fragile. “Big block Bitcoin lasts forever,” Wuckert says.

How will BSVers be impacted by the next halving?

Wuckert has always referred to the halvings as a “ticking time bomb.” While small blockers think the price of BTC will go up because it has to; a terribly flawed notion. Can it go up forever? No, reality will intrude at some point.

Can BTC even build blocks with enough fees to cover the reduction in the block reward? Probably not, he says. Fees will have to increase to cover it, or they’ll have to raise the block size. BSV blockchain doesn’t have this problem, as block size can increase forever. If BSV blockchain doesn’t win, none will win, he says.

To hear Wuckert’s thoughts on other matters, such as the on-chain exchanges Xiaohui Liu has enabled, how to get into mining, how BTC will respond to Digital Asset Recovery orders, and much more, listen to the live stream. Don’t forget to subscribe to CoinGeek to catch the next episode live!
