The second strand of the Philippine Fintech Festival is just around the corner! But, before we witness how these “festivals of festivals” will contribute to the overall growth of fintech in the Philippines, let’s find out first what Digital Pilipinas’ Philippine Fintech Festival Year 2 has to offer.
What should I expect?
The 2022 edition of the Philippine Fintech Festival set the tone of ASEAN leading the digital future of Southeast Asia by laying out roadmaps at the inaugural event. In it, leaders from around the world foster connections and plans to transform the country’s fintech space.
Fast forward a year later, with a theme “WORLD, MEET ASEAN IN A DIGITAL PILIPINAS: The Philippines as a Digital Bridgeway to ASEAN and to the World,” the festival will be showcasing cross-border partnerships and collaborations with different countries. Apart from that, an inaugural Voice of Digital Pilipinas – Digital Bayanihan Award, made possible with market research firm Tangere, would be honoring the efforts of trailblazers and innovators helping to shape the country’s digital future.
This year will also see the first “Festival of Festivals” happening throughout the week. In these “sub festivals,” as Digital Pilipinas calls it, the audience will hear from industry leaders and country delegations who are tasked to set benchmarks for collaborative progress.
The sub festivals, dubbed the “biggest gathering of industry leaders and country delegations,” would rule out benchmarks for various industries beyond fintech, highlighting discussions around smart cities and proptech, trustech and cybersecurity, healthcare, eGov, lifetech, insurtech, sustainability and climate, halal economy, esports as well as AI, blockchain and digital assets.
The private-led movement would also be hosting an ASEAN tech career expo to reskill and upskill the homegrown talent in the country. Lastly, a conference wouldn’t be complete without roundtables. Digital Pilipinas will host private power breakfast forums with market leaders, investors, regulators, and startups all week.
Who will be there?
A few new faces will be joining the discussions this November, like Bren Pro, Inc.’s Director Jab Escutin; DragonPay’s Founder, COO, and CTO Dick Chiang; Bounceback PH Founder Jason Dela Rosa; Prosperna Founder and CEO Dennis Velasco; Agenix Digital CEO Clarry Herrera; Asian Council for Small Business Founder Arlene Martinez; President of CICP Jako De Leon; among others.
These festivals will also be supported by local government agencies, like the Department of Health (DOH), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
When is the festival taking place?
The highly anticipated week-long Philippine Fintech Festival Year 2 will be happening on November 20-24, 2023, at the SMX Aura, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Register now and get updates via this link.
