The London Blockchain Conference was the biggest event in the blockchain world this year, and the responsibility of hosting the event fell on the shoulders of Lucy Hedges and Victoria Scholar. The two hosts were lauded for doing an exceptional job, and as they tell CoinGeek Backstage, there was something for everyone at the event.

As a market analyst and financial journalist at Interactive Investor, Scholar is no stranger to the intersection of finance and technology. At the event, she hosted the technical stage where speakers delved into the nitty gritty of blockchain technology, including code-along sessions where the attendees participated in developing simple Bitcoin applications.

“There was something for everyone, from beginners to intermediate to advanced,” she told CoinGeek Backstage reporter Becky Liggero.

As the host of the business stage, Hedges was charged with overseeing some of the headline presentations and panel discussions at the event, from Dr. Craig Wright, and Hollywood producer Ryan Kavanaugh to former U.S. Secretary of the Navy Kenneth Braithwaite and renowned economist Peter Schiff.

A technophile with a penchant for new technology, Hedges has over a decade’s experience working with top media outlets, including Metro UK and the BBC.

“As someone who loves technology, I love breaking down information and taking out what people may deem convoluted or boring and turning it into something that they can relate to. I strive to make sure that technology is for everyone,” she told CoinGeek Backstage.

The conference brought together attendees with varying degrees of blockchain knowledge. Some knew nothing about blockchain and came to learn the basics, while others have been developing blockchain applications for a decade.

“The content that we had spoke to everyone. We had such an array of speakers…there was something for everyone,” Hedges remarked.
