Because Bitcoin SV’s (BSV) blockchain is more versatile and robust than other solutions, it has the ability to offer services and solutions that can revolutionize how businesses conduct their operations. The recently-completed Genesis upgrade has made those possibilities even more attainable and easier to integrate, and one of the most beneficial use cases centers on using the blockchain for smart contract creation. Leading that sector is sCrypt, a company created to build smart contracts on the BSV blockchain, and its founder, Xiaohui Liu, participated in the recently-held CoinGeek London conference to provide an update. After his presentation, CoinGeek’s Hannah Jackson caught up with him behind the scenes.

sCrypt was the first entity to dedicate itself to building a smart contract solution on the BSV blockchain. It was launched about a year ago and, for the past four months, substantial progress has been made in its capabilities. New features are constantly being added that enable the development of new contracts easier than ever before, paving the way for a viable digital contract option that can meet all technical and regulatory requirements.

Most recently, sCrypt has been enhanced to allow previous contracts to be reused in the creation of new solutions. There are now standard libraries that allow developers to simplify the contracts’ creation through dependency, and a new extension for Virtual Studio Code has been developed, as well. sCrypt continues to push forward, adding new features that make it easier to test and verify contract creation during the building process.

In speaking with Jackson, Liu praised the Genesis upgrade for allowing more complete smart contract solutions to be created. The removal of the artificial block limits, which still plague other blockchain options like BTC and Ethereum, has been a huge boost for developers of all kinds, and especially for sCrypt. It has allowed for the creation of more complex scripts, which enable new features and traits that no other blockchain can provide.

Genesis also led the way for the introduction of the first integrated development environment (IDE) for writing contracts on the blockchain. An IDE is described by the Computer Science Wiki as an “integrated development environment (IDE) is a software application that provides comprehensive facilities to computer programmers for software development. An IDE normally consists of a source code editor, build automation tools and a debugger. Most modern IDEs have intelligent code completion.”

Liu is one of many who have been making the journey to CoinGeek conferences since they first started. He points out that the amount of interest in the events continues to grow each time, and that the experience has become “surreal” because of the participation. The next CoinGeek conference, scheduled for this October in New York, will continue that experience.
