France has always appeared to be more accepting of digital currency and many stores have begun to accept crypto as a form of payment. As one of the biggest examples of how popular crypto is in the country, Domino’s Pizza has launched a competition to celebrate its anniversary and is putting up €100,000 (about $110,000) in SegWitCoin (BTC) and other prizes. In a tweet from last week, Domino’s France stated (translated from French), “For our 30-year anniversary, we will make you win something sick: €100,000 in cash or bitcoin. 100% winning game with thousands of gifts to win, so go!” https://twitter.com/dominos_pizzafr/status/1169905776468512768 The competition started on September 4 and allows consumers to compete in games when ordering pizza from the chain through October 2. Registration will be open until October 6, but all purchases must be made through the closing date. The prizes are available in either BTC or cash, but BTC payouts will be adjusted to the exchange rate on the day of the pizza purchase. Payouts will be made no later than December 16 and Domino’s points out that the crypto can only be paid if the winner has an active wallet on the day the prize is won. When a customer makes a purchase, he or she can then register on the site Domino’s created for the contest. In addition to the top prize of €100,000, the company is giving away Sony soundbars and flat-screen TVS, JBL Bluetooth speakers, Nintendo Switch gaming consoles, Fujifilm photo printers and much more. Even a year of free pizza is up for grabs. Domino’s France isn’t the first arm of the pizza giant to connect with digital currencies. This past May, the branch that oversees operations in Malaysia and Singapore worked with SingularityNET, a blockchain firm out of the Netherlands, to use the latter’s blockchain-enabled artificial intelligence (AI) on its platform. The AI was brought in to enhance the company’s supply chain and logistics processes in both countries. The global pizza chain has always shown support for digital currencies. Since 2010, it has held a Bitcoin Pizza Day on May 22 that allows consumers to make their purchases with crypto.
