Crypto Spartacus thinks Dr. Craig Wright will be named Satoshi Nakamoto

YouTuber Crypto Spartacus recently released a video detailing why he thinks Dr. Craig Wright will win COPA v Wright and be named Satoshi Nakamoto. As we enter the final week of the trial, where both sides present their closing arguments, this video summarizes what has happened so far and the likely outcome.

COPA v Wright so far

After a grueling 19 days in COPA vs. Wright, the written closing statements are in. Crypto Spartacus tells us they will be presented in court from Tuesday to Friday.

How did this case come about? It goes back to Dr. Wright filing copyright over the Bitcoin white paper, he says. COPA, the so-called Crypto Open Patent Alliance, doesn’t want him to assert any ownership or rights over it. In this case, they seek to prove he isn’t Satoshi Nakamoto and has no rights over Bitcoin.

Why go to court and not just move coins to prove it? Back in 2016, Dr. Wright’s critics were already saying that if he did so, he stole them. Therefore, he has to establish his identity first in court. However, he said he would move coins after the matter had been settled. Crypto Spartacus points to the 26.9 coins moved to the Genesis Block before the trial as a possible indicator of what Dr. Wright plans to do as a final chess move.

During the trial, early Satoshi emails with Martti Malmi came out, and they shed light on a few things. They prove Satoshi was a big blocker, talking about 15GB of blocks per day back in 2019. Interestingly, they also show him referring to his friend Dave.

COPA’s case is falling apart

As we enter the final stages of the case, it’s clear that COPA’s case is falling apart, Crypto Spartacus tells us. They based it all on discrediting the validity of Dr. Wright’s documents, but their expert reports have been thoroughly discredited and may even be thrown out altogether.

COPA has tried throughout to imply that Dr. Wright is a serial forger and that he somehow had time to manufacture 10s of thousands of documents while filing 4,000+ patents. Spartacus emphasizes that the average person can’t fathom what it takes to create 4,000 patentable ideas; it takes a genius on another level, something akin to Thomas Edison, and that is precisely the type of person we would expect to have created Bitcoin.

Dr. Wright will win, and the fallout will be biblical

Is Dr. Wright likely to win the trial? Crypto Spartacus thinks so. He has presented a body of work and work history that shows he is the right person to be Satoshi Nakamoto, and it’s all corroborated by credible witnesses. On the other hand, COPA has very little, and what they do have is now thoroughly discredited.

What happens next? If Dr. Wright does emerge victorious, he will then assert his rights over the Bitcoin database. BTC will lose its right to call itself Bitcoin, and there will be serious legal consequences for exchanges, miners, and many others. Any entity that can be served papers will be, and everything will change in a short space of time.

Many are in for a rude awakening as they realize how badly they have been lied to over the years. Furthermore, given how Dr. Wright has been treated since 2015, some soul-searching will have to be done. All of this will cause people to lose faith in ‘crypto’ in general, and Spartacus thinks assets like gold and silver will get a bid as anti-fiat money people leave the sinking ship that is BTC. He closes by highlighting that big-money players like
BlackRock know all about Dr. Wright and the possible implications, and they’re happy to play both sides for a profit.
