Kurt Wuckert Jr. is CoinGeek’s Chief Bitcoin Historian, a role he has held since 2020, covering Bitcoin history, Bitcoin mining, the BSV blockchain, blockchain infrastructure, and the ongoing story of Satoshi Nakamoto. His personal site, kurtwuckertjr.com, describes him as “the world’s foremost Bitcoin Historian and blockchain strategy expert focused on reclaiming Satoshi Nakamoto’s original design for global scaling.”

Wuckert’s path to CoinGeek began in October 2019, when an on-air Bitcoin debate against Peter McCormack and Shinobi on the Hotep Jesus Podcast caught the attention of CoinGeek’s Editor-in-Chief, who offered him the role that followed. He has been in Bitcoin since 2012, and he has published more than 260 articles at coingeek.com since taking the position. From February 2021 until December 2025 he hosted the CoinGeek Weekly Livestream, conducting weekly on-air interviews with guests from across the Bitcoin and finance industries. His streams continue as “Kurt’s Podcast” at @kurtwuckertjr on YouTube.

Wuckert also builds Bitcoin infrastructure outside the newsroom. He co-founded GorillaPool, a BSV-exclusive mining pool and infrastructure provider, in 2021. GorillaPool mined the first, public, Teranode-built block in December 2025 through its GorillaNode implementation. In 2023 he founded Open Protocol Labs, a company focused on protocol research and tooling for BSV applications. Open Protocol Labs is the parent of bOpen, whose bopen.ai platform offers open source tools for agentic AI development and business operations.

Wuckert is also the author of the multi-part, heavily footnoted “Written History of Bitcoin” series published at kurtwuckertjr.com. That body of research has made him a source for major-publisher accounts of Satoshi Nakamoto: he was extensively interviewed for “Hero/Villain: Satoshi: The Man Who Built Bitcoin” by Mark Eglinton (Simon & Schuster), which credits him as Chief Bitcoin Historian, and for “The Mysterious Mr. Nakamoto” by Benjamin Wallace (Penguin Random House).

His analysis has appeared on national broadcast media, including multiple Fox Business segments, among them “The Claman Countdown” and “Kennedy,” and four NBC Miami news segments, including coverage of the Kleiman v. Wright trial in Miami. He has also been a podcast guest on the PBD Podcast with Patrick Bet-David, Untangling Web3, the Paul Barron Network, BeInCrypto, and The Morgan Report. He has been quoted by Unchained Crypto and DailyCoin.

Across his shows, including the CoinGeek Weekly Livestream and special edition CoinGeek broadcasts live from the London Blockchain Conference, Wuckert has interviewed a wide range of figures in Bitcoin and finance: Peter Schiff, whom he interviewed multiple times, along with Tim Draper, Ben McKenzie, Scott Galloway, Mike Hearn, Brad Feld, Reggie Middleton, and Daniel Krawisz, among others.

Wuckert was born in Chicago and is based in South Florida. He is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, and he teaches advanced Jiu-Jitsu to competitors in his free time. Wuckert is a husband, father of three kids, and an active member of his local church.
