The Bitcoin Bridge,” CoinGeek’s new video show highlighting projects in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, heads to Australia and Tuvalu this week. Our guest is Brendan Lee of Elas Digital, who gives us some background to a project everyone’s been talking about—the Tuvalu National Digital Ledger project.

Tokens and education

Brendan clears up exactly what Elas and token platforms on Bitcoin SV (BSV) are all about—some technical detail about how they work, and how Elas Digital plans to make itself known.

Since he also has a training and educational role with the Bitcoin Association, Brendan tells us about the materials he’s been preparing. There’s the Bitcoin SV Academy, a more formalized course for learners of all levels who want to get involved with Bitcoin, as well as his own series of instructional videos.

There’s a lot to learn in Bitcoin, and Brendan Lee talks about the challenges of explaining concepts that are complicated and often difficult to grasp, but essential to learn. This leads to a discussion about Bitcoin communication in general, and how we can all do better to inform the wider public (both those new to blockchain and those already involved) about what it can do.

We know you’d like to hear more about Tuvalu

Then it’s on to Tuvalu. We’re going to examine this project in more depth in the near future with George Siosi Samuels of Faia Corporation, but Brendan fills us in on the background, and what we should (and shouldn’t) expect from it.

Is Tuvalu going to use BSV as its national currency? Is the country itself “connected” enough to transform itself into a knowledge/digital economy? Why does Tuvalu need blockchain solutions? What is realistic to imagine there, and what hurdles might Faia, Elas and nChain face in making it work?

You’ll hear those questions answered here. The Tuvalu National Digital Ledger is an exciting project for the country and for Bitcoin BSV, so it’s good to get everything in perspective at this early stage.

“The Bitcoin Bridge” will continue each week on Streamanity to bring you news about projects you might not hear much about otherwise—yet are playing a vital role in building the Bitcoin ecosystem. It’s not always the usual fare, and you’re bound to find out something new each week.
