2023 is the Year of the Rabbit according to the 12-year Chinese zodiac cycle. According to Chinese mythology, people born in the Year of the Rabbit are associated with elegance, kindness, and being responsible. It also symbolizes positivity, longevity, and auspiciousness.
The Year of the Rabbit comes after the Year of the Tiger, which signified going all out and fighting for Bitcoin’s place in the world. Just like the Tiger is always ready to fight for its place in the jungle, the Bitcoin community stood boldly for Satoshi’s vision when the industry went through its most testing year.
The Year of the Rabbit calls on the Bitcoin community’s elegance and positivity. It comes at a time when Satoshi Nakamoto has been vindicated after years of being the punching bag for the BTC cartel.
After years of pumping tokens with no utility, this faction faced a reckoning in 2022 as some of their biggest tools and vehicles for concentrating wealth at the hands of a few went up in smoke. From Digital Currency Group, Celsius and BlockFi to LUNA and FTX, entities built on the shaky ground were finally exposed for the house of cards that they were.
Bitcoin’s elegance will come to the fore in the Year of the Rabbit. After years of misdirection and building apps on Ethereum, Solana, and other networks that can’t scale, developers are recognizing the elegance of Satoshi’s original design in Bitcoin SV.
