With 3.5 billion fans globally, football is the world’s most popular sport, and come September 20, the industry’s key decision-makers will be in Sevilla, Spain, for this year’s World Football Summit (WFS). This time, blockchain and its role in the future of the sport will be one of the topics on the agenda, and Transmira’s Robert Rice will be among those on the stage.

WFS boasts an elite roster of speakers, and the latest edition will be no different. Some of the speakers will include FIFA’s general secretary Fatma Samoura; Javier Tebas, the President of Spain’s top tier league, LaLiga; Saudi Pro League COO Carlo Nobra; English Premier League legend Sol Campbell; and Maheta Molango, the chairman of the Professional Footballers’ Association.

This year, the metaverse will be on the agenda, and industry thought leader Robert Rice will be at hand to discuss how the technology will impact football.

Rice will join Zetly CEO Mike Gijer in a panel titled “Global Reach and Monetization with Web3 Metaverse Digital Twins.” The two industry titans will delve into the sports metaverse and how their platforms present a world of global opportunities for football clubs.

“The thing that excites me the most is that our technology makes it possible to engage fans around the world with new experiences, and connect teams to the global market in new ways never before possible,” Rice tells CoinGeek.

There’s no better event to connect with the who’s who of the football industry. WFS will attract 2,500 attendees, 150 speakers, and over 200 football clubs from 120 countries.

“The solution we have put together with Zetly, and powered by nChain, offers sports organizations state-of-the-art metaverse technology several generations beyond the rest of the industry, with engagement and monetization built deep in the core DNA of the platform,” Rice adds.

Football is evolving rapidly, and fans are seeking easier and more effective ways to engage with their favorite clubs. Beyond the engagement, Rice believes their solution will allow the clubs to generate multiple new revenue streams.

CoinGeek will be at the event to bring you the latest, and all our readers will get a 15% discount on tickets. Grab yours here and reserve your spot at football’s biggest event.
