Bitcoin SV wallet Centbee has added another feather in its cap. Robert Graham, chief financial officer of the South Africa-based company, has been named the Best Bitcoin Transactions CFO.

Graham received the award from Acquisition International, a U.K-based digital business magazine with a focus on corporate affairs. The award factors in a CFO’s strategy and influence, his leadership qualities, how much he stimulates the company to operate efficiently, how well he complies with regulations and manages risks, and much more. Once the nominations are done, there’s a three-month period in which voting taking place.

Other 2020 winners include Katy Dinnis, the CFO for Palladium International, a global advisory firm; Elliot Renton, the CFO for UAE-based private charter company Vista Global Holdings; and Steven Zaat, the CFO for Air France.

Graham told CoinGeek, “I’m honoured to have my hard work recognised and to work for such an innovative fintech company in the exciting digital assets space. It’s great to be impactful in a space dominated by software engineers. Building regulated financial systems requires a balance between software and business development, and I’m glad to be able to contribute to Centbee’s journey.”

Graham joined Centbee in February 2019 as the company’s finance manager, and then was named its CFO six months later. Prior to Centbee, he has held various roles in finance, including an audit senior at Deloitte Canada.

“Rob’s stellar track record as a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) (CPA equivalent) with experience in the banking industry’s audit and compliance function is a real asset to Centbee. Rob’s skill set is an unusual combination, not only is he a highly experienced finance professional who has worked in banking, but he is also a very successful crypto trader with an in-depth understanding of cryptocurrency markets and the broader bitcoin industry. Rob really represents the ‘new breed’ of CFO’s who need to have solid commercial acumen as well as an expert understanding of new innovations like blockchain and digital assets and we’re extremely proud of his achievement in winning this prestigious award,” Centbee co-founder Angus Brown told us.

“Rob’s commercial experience combined with his in-depth understanding of Bitcoin SV as the only scalable blockchain for business makes him a valuable member of our team. We’re exceptionally proud of Rob’s achievement of being named Bitcoin Transactions CFO of the Year in the CFO Global Excellence Awards,” Centbee co-founder Lorien Gamaroff said.

Centbee has cemented its position as one of the best Bitcoin wallets in the market. The Johannesburg-based company has focused on Africa, onboarding the continent to Bitcoin SV. Centbee gets its edge from its deep understanding of the continent’s unique challenges and its ability to develop products that cater to these needs.

One of its unique products allows Bitcoin enthusiasts to purchase it over the counter at their nearest retail stores. Once they initiate a voucher on their Centbee app, they can scan the barcode at the local store to load their wallets.

Gamaroff and Brown have led the company in its evolution from a small startup to a financial services business. Speaking to CoinGeek, Gamaroff said that this evolution has been crucial as it has allowed the company to align itself with the industry regulations.
