Singapore, 24-07-2018 – LATOKEN, a multi-asset crypto exchange, announced today that it will soon launch trading security tokens. This represents a huge opportunity for the industry, particularly as more and more startups get focused on being compliant with applicable laws and regulations when raising capital by way of token placement.

Security token offerings bring the perfect balance between ICOs and IPOs by giving access to capital at a relatively low cost while allowing entrepreneurs to remain compliant with securities regulations. Security tokens will present investors with an outstanding flexibility by unlocking a variety of asset classes to include real estate, venture funds or artwork.

Valentin Preobrazhenskiy, LATOKEN’s CEO, says: “Tokens linked to real assets are the future of capital markets, as blockchain technology continues to solve the problems of custody and trades settlement. This has already allowed startups to skip VC and private equity stages and access public financing via issuance of their own currency or utility tokens. The next step for the industry is to issue and trade tokens representing equity and we are working to make it compliant for many regions”.

LATOKEN intends to launch security token trading in a limited number of countries during a trial period, followed by a wider release (subject to regulatory clearances and applicable restrictions). Only a few blockchain exchanges are properly-equipped and appropriately-licensed to support security token trading today.
