In a press release issued by the company on August 19, Black Manta Capital Partners (BMCP) announced that they have received a license from the German financial regulator BaFin to operate a Multi-STO platform. The regulatory agency issued a MiFID II license on August 1, nine months after BMCP filed their application.

Black Manta Capital uses its platform to help manage tokens used in on-chain contracts. This system allows access to capital for both small and medium-sized enterprises, startups, commodity markets, real estate projects, or those needing funds for investment.“With so-called Security Tokenization, BMCP converts rights to an asset into a digital token, creating intelligent investment contracts on a blockchain,” the company explained of their function in their press release.

The issuance of this license allows the clients of BMCP to have greater confidence that all transactions are being regulated and monitored. To receive such a license is a big deal, and will help to enhance the overall ambitions at Black Manta.

“Apart from the licensed operating entity in Berlin, Black Manta Capital Partners drive the market launch of their investment platform also through BMCP Consulting in Vienna and BMCP Limited for international business development, based at the Malta Stock Exchange in Valletta,” the company explained in their press release.

Being a one-stop solution for many investors is the goal at BMCP. They have already sought to gain a similar license in Singapore, explaining “While Black Manta Capital Partners want to be ‘boutique’ in its beginnings and run ‘handpicked’ STOs only, our strategy is global from day one: the first step is to link Europe and Asia on one blockchain-based investment platform. Therefore we look already today into Singapore.”

This helps to move forward their global expansion plans, which is a major goal at Black Manta. Having the license affords them the opportunity to access the capital in a wide area of financial arenas, but will open them up to markets in other countries as well. The announcement also explained, “The next strategic move will be the foundation of Black Manta Asia, in Singapore, and the application for a similar license with the Monetary Authority Singapore.”

Moving to STOs, or security token offerings has become one of the more popular ways for firms such as this to enhance revenues. For example, BTG Pactual shifted to these offerings on their Tezos Blockchain platform and now expects over $1 billion in sales.
