Gregory Maxwell, the co-founder and former CTO of the Blockstream Bitcoin Core (BTC) institution, has had enough and isn’t going to take it anymore. After having more than a few libelous accusations thrown at him by Roger Ver, AKA, “MemoryDealers” on Reddit, he is moving forward with his previous assertions that he would seek legal relief against the known anarchist.

In his post on Reddit, Ver claimed Maxwell “may have been involved with the hacking and vote manipulation false flag ‘attack’” on the subreddit /r/Bitcoin. He then took it a step further and directly called Maxwell “a crook.”

Not willing to take the accusations lying down, Maxwell sent a response to Ver, stating, “As I previously warned, if you or your staff continued to post untruthful malicious defamation about me I would take legal action against you and your companies.

“I see you have again posted an outrageously untrue claim that I engaged in unlawful and unethical behavior, relying on your privileged position as moderator of the subreddit to fraudulently convince others of the truthfulness of these untrue claims.

“You should retain all records, communications related to myself and these claims with your staff and any other parities, as if you destroy them it will work against your interest in discovery.

“I regret that [it] has come to this, but your continued violence against me offers me no alternative.”

Perhaps Ver is disappointed because Maxwell now understands how the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) pundits such as Ver and Jihan Wu have crippled the digital currency’s future. He recently offered assistance to Dr. Craig Wright and nChain, stating in an email, ““I see now that Roger Ver, Rick Falkvinge, Olivier Janssens, and Jihan Wu appear to be aggressively attacking you in public and trying to distance BCH from you. To the best of my knowledge, all of these parties previously believed in you. The cracks created by Peter Rizun and his staff seem to be widening at an exponential pace and are now starting to encompass people (such as the above) that previously couldn’t be convinced by any argument to align against you. It seems to me that it is simply a matter of time before a forceful public denunciation by someone previously cited as proof of your merit, such as Gavin, brings things crashing down around you.”

The fact that the CEO of a company such as Bitcoin.com can resort to juvenile actions such as egregious attacks of character in a public forum should really call into question the legitimacy of someone’s ability to manage a company. Then again, understanding that Ver is facing a lawsuit for possible illegal activities, it comes as no surprise
