Scottish football club Ayr United FC have launched their new-look 2020/21 away kit, sponsored by Bitcoin SV (BSV).
The Scottish Championship club unveiled the new kit from kit supplier Hummel, part of a multi-year deal inked with the manufacturer which includes one unique kit design per season.
The kit is emblazoned with the logo of BSV, official kit sponsor of Ayr United FC, in one of several prominent sporting sponsorships backed by the digital currency.
Ayr United FC announced the deal with Hummel back in March, after switching from previous kit supplier Adidas.
At the time, Graeme Miller, commercial manager of Ayr United Football Club, welcomed the partnership with Hummel, as well as the ongoing relationship with BSV: “After many years using Adidas we decided the time was right to change and offer our supporters some great value with a World Class brand. We explored many options and the quality of the Hummel product and their desire to work with Ayr United made the decision for us.”
“Our partnership with Bitcoin SV also continues for next season and we are hugely appreciative of their support. Bitcoin SV is a digital currency that scales to enterprise level and offers very low-fee micro-transactions. In short, Bitcoin SV is Bitcoin,” Miller said.
Gary Bright, Head of Teamsport, Hummel UK & Ireland, said Ayr United FC were one of Scotland’s most respected local clubs.
“Hummel are thrilled to become technical kit supplier to Ayr United alongside our retail partner Football 1st. We take great pride and passion in everything we do as a brand, and we look forward to working closely with the club and fans, to offer quality Hummel products that everyone will be proud to be associated with.”
Founded in 1910, Ayr United FC are one of the Scottish Championship’s most recognizable clubs, with both a local and national reputation.
The sponsorship with Bitcoin SV is only the latest example of BSV representation in elite sports, which has also included events such as the Pool Premier League.
