If you want to learn about Bitcoin, who better to learn from than the man who invented it?
On January 25 and 26, Dr. Craig S. Wright will host the first in a series of The Bitcoin Masterclasses aimed at educating anyone who seeks to learn about Bitcoin fundamentals.
This two-day immersive course will take place between 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. GMT in London and will be available via livestream globally. It will be held monthly, and the first class will set the foundation of your understanding of Bitcoin.
What is The Bitcoin Masterclasses about?
As outlined above, the The Bitcoin Masterclasses series is all about education on the fundamentals of Bitcoin.
The first workshop will focus on identity and privacy in relation to Bitcoin and digital cash systems.
Participants will learn:
- More about confidentiality and privacy and how these differ from anonymity.
- Protecting identity off-chain while also maintaining privacy.
- How these concepts apply specifically to Bitcoin and the legal requirements for AML/KYC related to public blockchain.
Dr. Wright has spoken and written at length about these topics throughout his career, emphasizing the need to be legally compliant repeatedly. He has painstakingly explained the difference between privacy and anonymity and why it matters, so this is a chance to hear about that in more detail.
Future workshops will cover Bitcoin’s history, theory, and design, as well as its unbounded scaling capacity and potential use cases.

Who is Dr. Craig Wright?
Dr. Wright is the inventor of Bitcoin, having released the software under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009. He has been legally awarded the copyright of the Bitcoin white paper and is recognized as Bitcoin’s sole inventor.
These days, Dr. Wright is the Chief Scientist at nChain, a London-based blockchain technology company established in 2015. His ideas have led to thousands of patent applications and one of the largest intellectual property portfolios related to blockchain technology.
Before he created Bitcoin, Dr. Wright gained more than 30 years of experience in the fields of IT and security, working on systems for the Australian Stock Exchange, among other important projects. He also helped design the architecture of the world’s first online casino (Lasseters Online).
