Erik Gibbs A new repository for Bitcoin BCH retailers that everyone should know about

A growing number of merchants, both eCommerce and of the brick-and-mortar variety, are adopting Bitcoin BCH every day. One of the issues, given that crypto awareness is still a relatively new topic, has been locating these merchants. There are several websites that attempt to help shine a light on the missing information, but a new website makes it easy for anyone and everyone to help advance the cause. recently went live and is still being developed, but shows a great deal of promise. The site’s founder, Jordan Brack, recently took some time out to answer a few questions for us.

Who came up with the idea and what prompted the creation of the site?

The idea is one that I had myself, and bounced off some fellow community members to ensure there was some interest in such a platform before I set off building it.

What really prompted me to create this platform were frustrations I was having adding new merchants to existing Bitcoin Cash merchant directories., for example, is an excellent site, carefully curated by a small team of dedicated folks. However, that careful curation means that submitted merchants take weeks to appear—if they appear at all, since they are weary to list various types of goods and services with questionable legal standings. I wanted to create a truly community maintained directory, where anyone can sign-up and instantly add any merchant to the directory.

How long did it take to develop?

The website took about two weeks of my free time to develop. It’s nothing fancy, but I think it fulfills one of the communities needs at the moment.

What issues did you encounter?

The biggest issues I’ve encountered thus far appear to be populating the site with initial merchants, and designing the model in such a way as to discourage spam and encourage genuine use. Both are still a work in progress, and I plan on continuously reaching out to the communities on Reddit,, and elsewhere for advice and feedback on how to move the platform forward.

What is it built on?

The site is built on the LAMP stack, using the Bootstrap framework.

Where do you see the platform in five years?

With any luck, in five years, the platform will be full of merchants, reviews, and users sharing all their favorite Bitcoin Cash businesses.

What are some future enhancements you are considering?

In the immediate future, I plan to add a “region” tag to merchants in the database, allowing even those stores with no brick-&-mortar location to designate a service/shipping region. This should make it easier for customers to find businesses near them. At some point further down the line, I plan on implementing some sort of reporting/flagging system for merchants and reviews of merchants, in order to help combat possible spam. I have also spoken with others working on similar – though slightly different or less developed – platforms, with the hopes of collaborating to make the process of adding and finding new Bitcoin Cash accepting merchants even easier.

Platforms such as are a great way to show how the community is working to advance awareness and acceptance of Bitcoin BCH. Since it is completely community-led, it relies on input from Bitcoin BCH enthusiasts from around the globe. Don’t hesitate to take a look and add details to help increase the footprint of the world’s only true retail digital currency.

This interview is part of an ongoing project to feature advances of the Bitcoin BCH community. If you have a project, or know of one, that should be highlighted, drop us a note.

Note: Tokens on the Bitcoin Core (SegWit) chain are referenced as BTC coins; tokens on the Bitcoin Cash ABC chain are referenced as BCH, BCH-ABC or BAB coins.

Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (BSV) is today the only Bitcoin project that follows the original Satoshi Nakamoto whitepaper, and that follows the original Satoshi protocol and design. BSV is the only public blockchain that maintains the original vision for Bitcoin and will massively scale to become the world’s new money and enterprise blockchain.
