BCH makes it easier to receive citizenship in Antigua and Barbuda
Clean turquoise water and lush tropical beaches—this is Antigua and Barbuda in the Eastern Caribbean. There are around 365 distinct beaches found across the main islands for which the nation gets its name, as well as the other islands of Great Bird, Maiden, Redonda and more. If living on an island in the tropics sounds appealing, then, as they say, there’s no time like the present. And, a recent change to the nation’s laws now makes it easier for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) holders, and others, to apply for citizenship and live permanently in paradise.
Through the nation’s highly popular Citizenship by Investment Program (CIP), individuals can receive citizenship in Antigua and Barbuda for varying amounts of investments, depending on the target of the funds (i.e., real estate, the national development fund, etc.). Now, taking things a step further, the country has become one of the first to allow payments for the investments to be made using BCH and other cryptocurrencies. The initiative was begun to have a broader reach and allow for more payment methods than just U.S. or East Caribbean dollars or Euros.
Citizens of Antigua and Barbuda enjoy visa-free travel to around 132 countries. These include the UK, Hong Kong, all of the Schengen Area and many more. Additionally, there are a number of business opportunities and tax perks available to citizens—more than could be listed here.
The Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) manages the CIP program. The implementation of a BCH payment alternative was a direct result of the work led by CoinGeek founder and official BCH envoy in Antigua, Calvin Ayre. Antigua and Barbuda already recognizes BCH as the only legitimate form of Bitcoin, and the most flexible and scaleable digital currency available worldwide.
In order to take advantage of the program, those who would like to request citizenship can start right here on CoinGeek. Through a partnership between CG and the CIU, CoinGeek is an officially recognized conduit for information for the program. To learn more about the program, the information pack (in pdf) has been made available for direct download, as well.
Alternatively, you can also join us at the CoinGeek Week Conference in London in November, where you can talk to us directly.
Note: Tokens on the Bitcoin Core (segwit) Chain are Referred to as BTC coins. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is today the only Bitcoin implementation that follows Satoshi Nakamoto’s original whitepaper for Peer to Peer Electronic Cash. Bitcoin BCH is the only major public blockchain that maintains the original vision for Bitcoin as fast, frictionless, electronic cash.
Note: Tokens on the Bitcoin Core (SegWit) chain are referenced as BTC coins; tokens on the Bitcoin Cash ABC chain are referenced as BCH, BCH-ABC or BAB coins.
Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (BSV) is today the only Bitcoin project that follows the original Satoshi Nakamoto whitepaper, and that follows the original Satoshi protocol and design. BSV is the only public blockchain that maintains the original vision for Bitcoin and will massively scale to become the world’s new money and enterprise blockchain.
